Ahern responds to governor's State of the State
address
Rep. John Ahern,
R-Spokane, had this to say about Governor Gregoire's State of the State
address given last night:
"She's right on with all
of the issues and ideas she mentioned -- because they are issues that
Republicans have driven and that Democrats have followed.
"She didn't go in depth
about funding the North-South freeway, although I have heard she wants
to propose a tax increase for our citizens in Spokane. I am disappointed
that Spokane residents are not getting a return on their gas tax
increase investment by having the state fund this important project.
"The governor's address clearly reflected the fact that this is an
election year. If it wasn't, we wouldn't have heard Republican ideas
claimed by her."
