Ahern invites citizens to ask questions, share concerns at town hall

Rep. John Ahern is inviting Spokane citizens to attend a town hall meeting Wednesday, April 23 at Gonzaga University.

"It's important for community members to come and share their concerns and ask me questions about legislative issues," said Ahern, R-Spokane. "As a state representative, it's my job to listen to the people and report back what I've been doing for them in Olympia."

The meeting is scheduled from 6-8 p.m. at the Jepson Center's Wolfe Auditorium, located off Desmet Street near Lake Arthur.

From Ruby and Division Streets:

Turn east onto Sharp Avenue and follow one block to Pearl Street and take a right. Follow Pearl Street two blocks to Desmet Street. Turn left into the parking lot. The Jepson Center is located southeast of the parking lot.

From Hamilton Street:

Turn west onto Sharp Avenue and follow about six blocks to Pearl Street and take a left. Follow two blocks to Desmet Street. Turn left into the parking lot. The Jepson Center is located southeast of the parking lot.

Next week's town hall is the first of two meetings hosted by the 6th District state representative to create a forum where citizens can voice their questions and concerns. The second town hall will be hosted at the Southside Senior Activity and Community Center on Tuesday, May 6.

"I'm asking my constituents to make the time to come and share their issues so we can have some good dialogue about issues like transportation, public safety and education," Ahern said. "I want to know what's important to them."
