Warnick changes committees
Moses Lake lawmaker will work on Transportation
and Local Government Committees
Rep. Judy Warnick,
R-Moses Lake, today began the first day of the 2008 Legislative session
with different committee assignments than last year. With several new
members in the House, committee assignments were adjusted. Warnick will
no longer serve on the Appropriations Subcommittee on General Government
and Audit Review.
Warnick will now serve as ranking Republican on the Local Government
Committee, a position she looks forward to.
“I’m very honored to be placed on this committee as a ranking member,”
Warnick said. “With 17 cities and three counties in our district, this
placement will be very important to me and to my constituents.”
The Transportation Committee is also added to her list of committees, an
appointment Warnick has desired since she was elected.
“Transportation is critical to our area, given the number of major
highways in our district and our rail issues,” she said. “I’m excited to
be able to speak more for the 13th District’s transportation needs.”
Warnick will continue serving on the Judiciary and Agriculture and
Natural Resources Committees, both as assistant ranking member.
“It’s going to be a busy year,” Warnick said. “But please feel free to
contact me and tell me what’s on your mind. My door is always open.”
