Ephrata receives $6.6 million loan for water and roadway improvements
13th District legislators help secure funding
Rep.
Bill Hinkle and
Rep. Judy Warnick
voted in favor of
House Bill 2437 today, supporting local improvement projects.
Financing will be provided to Ephrata through a low interest loan
through the public works assistance account.
“Ephrata is a growing
community,” said Hinkle, R-Cle Elum. “I am pleased the Legislature
passed this bill, which will allow for important citywide water and roadway
improvements.”
"I'm glad Ephrata will be
able to move forward on this vital replacement and update project with
this financing," said Warnick, R-Moses Lake.

By the numbers:
68,000 feet replaced failing water mains
50,000 feet replaced failing water service pipes
20 miles of overlaying roadway resurfaced
100 fire hydrants replaced
22,000 feet of curb and gutter replaced
16,000 feet of storm sewer pipe replaced
The Public Works Trust Fund was created by
the Legislature in 1985 to administer financing for critical public
works projects around the state.
The measure now goes to
the Senate for further consideration.
